‘Thanks again to another wonderful partnership with Leeds Beckett University, Adult Nursing and School of Health and Community Studies we were able to offer some Everyday Basic First Aid skills again to our volunteers by volunteers. Three 3rd Year Nursing Students: Hayley Williams, Roisin Condon and Hayley Jackson joined us yesterday to help deliver our annual Awareness Session to our volunteers.
They had never delivered the training before so this proved a wonderful opportunity for them, and for us to be able to afford the same. Our volunteers felt the session was relaxed, friendly and fun as well as informative, with an opportunity to have a go if they wished. It also enabled them to share their own experiences including their fears in a supportive caring space.
I wish to thank School of Health and Community Studies, Hayley, Roisin and Hayley, APNA Day Centre for the venue, and our own volunteers for taking part and for being so supportive themselves to the next generation’. Lisa Argyle Community Resilience Worker/Health Amaze Project Worker
