Funding

We get our funding from grants, contracts, donations, fundraising and make a small charge for most of our activities.

Our contract with Leeds Adult Social Care covers about 40% of our costs and for this we have criteria to meet such as reducing social isolation and improving health and wellbeing for older people in Woodhouse & Little London..

Other grants we receive each have their own criteria which we must meet.

In order to maintain the level of service and activities, we are always trying to find new funding.

CARING TOGETHER works to improve the health, wellbeing and quality of life of older people in Woodhouse & Little London. We do this by creating opportunities for the over 55’s to remain independent and remain socially involved with their local community. We are an established local resource for local older people and their concerns.

As a charity, CARING TOGETHER is dependent on financial support from individuals as well as grant giving bodies in order to carry out its work.

We are always amazed by the generosity of our members and the local community who give to us in many ways to supplement the money we raise from grants and contracts and help us to continue our work

If you believe in the work that we do and would like to support us or, if you or a family member/friend has received good personalised support from us, then please think about making a donation to CARING TOGETHER.

How you can help:

Standing Order
Some friends of Caring Together have been kind enough to set up a monthly standing order. This is brilliant for us because it means that we know we have a regular income and so we can plan our services accordingly.

Donation
You can make a donation to Caring Together by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Please make cheques payable to Caring Together and drop it in or post it to the Caring Together office, Woodhouse Community Centre, 197 Woodhouse Street, Leeds LS6 2PN. If you would like to discuss this, then please contact us on 0113 2430298.

Gift boxes

Many of our members/supporters donate to us through our gift box scheme. We give them a small box to put spare change in and when it is full return it to Caring Together.  This is a really easy way to donate to us. And all those coppers really add up!

Legacy

Legacies are left through the donor’s will or simply by a declaration to the executors with instructions as to how and to which charity a legacy is to be distributed. Charitable legacies reduce the amount of inheritance tax due from the estate.

There are two types of legacy:
1) Residuary bequests. This means that once the family and loved ones have been provided for, the remainder or a proportion of the deceased’s estate is pledged to one or more charities.

2) Pecuniary bequests. This means that the deceased pledges a specific sum of money to a particular charity.

If you would like to discuss this, then please speak with your family or solicitor. If you would like to speak to someone at Caring Together about it, then contact Cherril about it on 0113 2430298.

Gift in lieu of flowers
Several families of Caring Together members have gifted money to Caring Together in lieu of flowers at their loved ones funeral.

This is a very touching gift and apart from making a financial difference to our project, it means so much to us. If this is something you would like to consider then please contact us

Support one of our local fundraising initiatives

From time to time we have events/activities to raise funds and you can support us through one of these – for example sponsor a stroller, buy some crafts or grab yourself a bargain at a table top or jumble sale.  Keep an eye on our news page for details
