Thirty members of Caring Together took up the offer early this month to have a look around St Marks Church in Woodhouse and attend a coffee morning there. St Mark’s, a historic Leeds church built after the Battle of Waterloo, was given a new lease of life a few years ago having spent some time redundant. It took a five-year conservation effort to restore it to its former glory. It is now a Gateway Church.
Members reminisced about family Christenings, Weddings and Funerals that had taken place within the church and church members talked of the different ways in which the church was used today.
Many thanks to those church members that facilitated the visit and made our members welcome.
