Equaliteas

Fantastic event yesterday at Little London Community Centre. Caring Together held an afternoon of Tea, Cakes and Debate to mark the 90th anniversary of the 1928 Representation of the People Act which gave all men and woman over the age of 21 the equal right to vote. Many thanks to all who attended, including local Councillors Javaid Akhtar, Kayleigh Brooks and Sam Pemberton our local PCSO. Those attending spoke of how Woman’s and Men’s roles had changed for most over the intervening years and individual stories and experiences were aired.

More from the CT Lounge

Caring Together held another secret cinema afternoon last week at Little London Community Centre. Adventures in La La Land was the film and there was a good attendance. Popcorn and ice creams were served and a good time was had by all. We will keep members informed as to when the next showing will be held via our newsletter. We ensure that all films shown are a reflection of what members want so ensure that you fill in the feedback forms after each film and indicate your preferences.

Bowling for Caring Together

As part of Volunteers week, Caring Together organised a bowling afternoon for a group of our local volunteers at the Woodhouse Moor Bowling Green. We all had a great afternoon. There were some seriously competitive matches but with good humour throughout. Many thanks to our local volunteers. We could not do what we do without their massive input and support. If you are interested in volunteering with Caring Together, please contact the office and ask to speak with Lisa, our volunteer coordinator.
