Tuesday afternoon is alright for Dancing

Caring Together had a trip to Morley Town Hall on Tuesday to attend a Tea Dance. It was a really enjoyable afternoon. Would anyone like for something similar to be organised in Woodhouse, Little London or the City Centre? If so, let us know, and watch this space!

Friday Group out for a bite in Bramley

The Friday Group went out for a meal at the Cornmill Lodge last Friday. It was an enjoyable afternoon in good company. If you are interested in becoming a member of Caring Together contact the office on 0113 2430298 and we will let you know about all of our groups, activities and support services.

Scams and Fraud Workshop

 

The Wednesday Group had a session on Scams and frauds last week. This was delivered by Cathy of the SAFER Project (West Yorkshire Trading Standards). The SAFER Project has been helping older people and vulnerable adults across the five districts of West Yorkshire protect themselves from scams, frauds and doorstep crime over the last six years.

Hyde Park Lunch

Caring Together’s monthly lunch outing was at the Hyde Park on Monday. A relaxing afternoon with good company was had by all. We are gathering suggestions for future locations to meet up in the local area. If you have any suggestions just let Valerie, Lisa or John know.

Boccia in Little London

Image result for bocciaA Boccia session will be held at Caring Together’s Wednesday Group at Little London Community Centre tomorrow. between 2pm and 3pm. This game is played as a group and is similar to bowls, yet indoors, it is great exercise which tests muscle, control and accuracy, and fun, with the opportunity to play games in teams. Boccia has origins in ancient Greece, where players threw large stones at a small target.

Free Legal Advice Session @ Caring Together Thursday 2nd May

Levis Solicitors LLP – a local solicitors firm, have offered some free advice sessions for Caring Together members.

The next legal clinic is this Thursday – 2nd May

They will be at the Caring Together offices in Woodhouse Community Centre on the first Thursday afternoon of each month and will be offering up to half an hour advice on legal matters.

If you decide, after the initial advice, that you wish to ask them to do further work on your behalf then this will be chargeable and they will discuss fees with you beforehand.

There is no obligation on your behalf to employ them to do any further work.
