On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week Boccia once again came to Caring Together. We had a session at Woodhouse Community Centre and one at Little London Community Centre.
Boccia is a fun, precision ball game, similar to bowls. Boccia can be played by individuals, pairs, or teams. The aim of the game is to throw leather balls as close as possible to a white target ball, or jack. Games are mixed gender and can be played by all ages. Various aids and equipment can be used to assist with throwing the balls, and all players play sitting. It is great exercise which tests muscle, control and accuracy, and fun, with the opportunity to play games in teams.
