The term befriending means to act as, or become a friend to someone. At Caring Together we call this friendly visiting. Often over a cuppa this can be to provide company, as well as good conversation. This can be short term or on a more long term basis, that can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly or just occasionally. Our friendly visitors are an amazing team of volunteers, who offer their time for free, visiting members, in their own home, joining them on walks, or just going to a cafe for a coffee. Our friendly visitors can also keep in contact over the phone if this is better for you or just pop in from time to time. For our members and volunteers this is about feeling valued, having someone to listen to you, laugh with, share stories past and present with, and just to enjoy some quality time together.
Is this something you would like to do?
Or, are you a member who would like a volunteer to pop in and see you, or maybe go out for a cuppa with?
If so, please get in touch with Lisa.
