Saving Energy/Saving Pounds
Groundwork’s GREEN DOCTOR service will be visiting the Wednesday Group on the 31st July
Energy bills are the number one financial concern for households – but 63% of us think there’s nothing we can do about them. At the same time fuel bills are rising. UK homes are among the least energy efficient in Europe and we have one of the highest rates of fuel poverty.
Groundwork’s GREEN DOCTOR service is a practical solution, helping people to take control and to reduce their environmental impact at the same time. The service provides home visits and 1-2-1 advice which can help you use less energy, keep warm and save money!
The Green Doctor service is FREE of charge subject to eligibility criteria.
HOME VISITS
The Green Doctor home visits usually takes about an hour and provide support as well as installing small energy efficiency measures. See below for more details.

Lunch and a stroll in the Golden Acre
Caring Together were out in Golden Acre Park on Monday for one of our series of small local trips. The weather was kind to us and we were able to sit outside the cafe enjoying the sunshine and having leisurely strolls around the park. If you, or anyone that you know, are interested in learning more about what we offer then give us a call on 0113 2430298.
Woman of substance

Caring Together visited the Central Library for the 1st session of the collaborative project with Skippko: Are we there yet? Women reflecting on women. This looks like being an excellent and informative initiative. The session looked at the history of local women, in this case, Mary Gawthorpe, an English suffragette, socialist, trade unionist, editor, and of course a local Woodhouse woman.

Green Gym at Lovell Park Hub
Caring Together recently attended the First Anniversary of Green Gym creating lovely garden spaces at Lovell Park Hub. We have a great relationship with Lovell Park Hub and use their IT suite regularly for our IT Drop in. The garden is a great space to relax and have a break-out from groups on those warm summer days.
