Volunteering is very rewarding. It is an opportunity to gain and develop skills and knowledge, which can be used in all aspects of life. Prospective employers look favourably upon applicants who do voluntary or community work and most job application forms include a section specifically for this information. Volunteering increases self-esteem, gives a sense of achievement, new friendships are formed and it can be great fun!!

• You will receive relevant training.
• You will have support.
• You will receive all out-of-pocket expenses.
• Where applicable you will have an identity card and a personal alarm (if wanted).
• As part of the application process you may also have to have a DBS check.
