Walk with us!

DSC00833Now that Spring finally seems to be here,  the Caring Together Walking Group will resume.  They have planned some very nice walks for the next couple of months, starting with a walk from St Chad’s Church to Kirkstall Abbey on Wednesday 18th March.  Other walks planned include: a canal side walk from Rodley to Kirkstall, Roundhay Park, Woodhouse to Meanwood Park, Cragg Farm – Horsforth and a riverside walk in Ilkley.

The walks are open to Caring Together members (if you are over 60 and live in Woodhouse or Little London you can join us – it’s free!).  If you would like to know more please contact us on 0113 2430298 or info@caringtogether.org.uk

Red Nose Day – and a thank you from us!

comic_relief_logo

Today is Red Nose Day – the major fundraising event for Comic Relief.

Since its launch in 1988, Red Nose Day has become something of a British institution. It’s the day, every two years, when people across the land can get together and do something funny for money at home, school and work.

There’s a fantastic night of TV on the BBC, with comedy and entertainment to inspire the nation to give generously.

Comic Relief spends the money raised by Red Nose Day to help people living tough lives across the UK and Africa.

Here at Caring Together we have been fortunate enough to receive funding from Comic Relief on several occasions over the years and we have been very grateful for this support that has helped us with various aspects of our work with older people in Woodhouse & Little London.

So today, we would like to say a big thank you and wish them well with today’s fundraising

International Women’s Day 2015

iwd logoToday is International Women’s Day – an event that has been happening since 1911.

So today we would like to say Happy Women’s Day to all our female members and volunteers .  It’s a day to celebrate women of all ages and we’d like to ask you to take a moment to think about all the women who have been important in your life – mothers, daughters, sisters, partners, friends, neighbours, carers – the list could go on.

(And, in case you were wondering, International Men’s Day is on November 19th)
