10 Caring Together members took advantage of free tickets offered by the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation last Monday. The match was Yorkshire CCC v Kent CC. These Match Day Experience offers are fantastic opportunities to watch top flight cricket.

As it was, it was a sobering match for Yorkshire who were well beaten by Kent, by 433 runs, setting up in terms of runs Kent’s largest win, the losers’ heaviest defeat and the fourth heaviest defeat in County Championship history. Darren Stevens claimed his fifth wicket of the innings, his 50th championship wicket of the season and became the second-oldest player to score 200 and take five wickets in an innings after WG Grace.

Caring Together were in the Merchant in the City Centre today for one of our regular monthly lunchtime meals out. If you are interested in joining us on one of these outings let us know and we will look out for you. Great to be at the 100% Digital Leeds Funding Award Celebration today at which Caring Together were one of the grant recipients. We look forward to using the funding received to further improve our digital work with members, within our groups, as well as for home based support and information.

Caring Together had an outing to the Leeds Armouries last week.

The project that Caring Together have been involved in with SKIPPKO has started to take shape (literally). ‘Are we there yet? Women reflecting on Women‘, has attracted much attention and has been a great success so far.

Caring Together’s Writing Group will be having its first session tomorrow at Little London Community Centre. This for members only. If you are interested in attending, call the office on 0113 2430298 and speak with John so that we know the numbers to expect.

No previous experience of writing your own material is required. Just turn up and as a group we will determine the direction things go.

This pilot group will be running for initially 8 sessions

The sessions will be:

5th September between 2pm and 4pm

12th September between 2pm and 4pm

19th September between 2pm and 4pm

26th September between 2pm and 4pm

3rd October between 2pm and 4pm

10th October between 2pm and 4pm

17th October between 2pm and 4pm

24th October between 2pm and 4pm
