Re-balancing Your Body, Mind & Spirit

The current cycle of Yoga sessions at Caring Together will shortly be coming to an end. However, their success means that we are looking to secure a base for more sessions in the near future, so watch this space.

While age does affect you in various ways, there’s a lot you can do to limit its impact on your body. Yoga is an excellent anti-ageing tool, capable of relieving symptoms and in some cases improving medical outcomes. It doesn’t matter where you’re starting from, or how old you are, movement and yoga can help.

Poetry Corner

Come, embrace the rebalance

be in tune from within;

empowered by AIR-FIRE WATER

to be completed once again.

complete the circle of protection with internal

enrichment that none may come to harm;

make a new nature’s quest.

Embrace the true living symbols, TREES,

who are nature’s friends.

Commune with nature,

listen quietly,

observe quietly,

enjoy life’s myriad creations;

make these words

so shall come to be;

thank you thank you thank you

go share with peace.

For mind and Body

It was time once again for our Yoga session at Little London Community Centre yesterday afternoon. As always it was well received and attended. We have three more sessions to go if anyone would like to come along and join us for some relaxation and mindful movement for overall well-being. The sessions are held every Thursday between 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Call the Caring Together office on 2430298 for more details.

Summertime Social

Caring Together held a Summertime Social yesterday. All agreed that it was a great afternoon with many saying that we need to make this an annual event. It was held at Little London Community Centre and aside from summer themed cakes and buns we had seasonal prizes for the raffle and bingo. As usual, a great many thanks to all of those volunteers who helped out and made it such a special event.

ModRoc

We have loved this morning. Together we have been experimenting with ModRoc; which is using plaster bandage dipped in water to make a plaster-of-paris to enable us to begin creating a Bust. This involves forming a sculpted representation of a person’s head and neck, and a upper part of the body. Some of us also got to draw portraits which will come to life using various digital technology.
