One for the diary

Caring Together are delighted to be working with the Heritage project, and with Skippko Arts Team on a new venture(Open to men and women 55 and above)

During 2019 Skippko artists will be working in communities to research and gather the stories of lesser known women who were involved in the fight for suffrage at the turn of the 20th century.  One of the groups will run at Caring Together. Participants will learn about Leeds women, before exploring their own heritage stories with the support of two artists and librarians from the Local and Family History library.

The project will involve learning heritage techniques and sharing the stories unearthed through various mediums; that will be fun and informative using visual arts, writing and audio recordings.  There will be outings too. All the work created will form an exhibition that will be on show at Leeds City Museum in May 2020.

‘Look after them lungs’

Members of the British Lung Foundation and a Rehabilitation Lead Physiotherapist were available to chat with Caring Together members who attended our ‘Breathe Easy’ session last Thursday. This was all done in a convivial and relaxed session where members chatted and played board games while the professionals moved from table to table. Many thanks to all involved in facilitating this session.
